Medialab is very proud to announce that a Medialab project -the Exomars Rover- is included in the latest issue of "The art of Maya". This publication (produced by one of the main 3D software companies) highlights the most impressive 8 projects every 3 to 4 years, and is distributed worldwide.

The ExoMars Rover was one of Medialab's main projects for 2004. The space mission calls for the development of a Mars orbiter, a descent module, and a Mars rover. The Mars orbiter will have to be capable of reaching Mars and putting itself into orbit around the planet. On board will be a Mars Rover within a descent module. The Mars descent module will deliver the rover to a specific location on the Mars surface by using an inflatable braking device or parachute system. Both systems are sufficiently robust to survive the stresses of atmospheric entry, and their landing accuracy will be sufficient for this mission.

Medialab's work on the Exomars Rover has been listed among the very best 3D projects of recent years. We have been ranked alongside companies that work for the film industry (Lord of the Rings) and the highly competitive computer gaming industry (Oddworld).
